Obituary For Reverend Dr. Eddie "Junior" Jones, Jr.
Funeral service for Eddie Jones, 76, of Maplesville, AL, will be at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, July 18, 2026, at Harris Funeral Home Chapel with interment in Evergreen Cemetery, 1409 Monroe Avenue, Opelika, AL 36801, Pastor Carlos L. Jones, Sr. will officiate.
Dr. Jones, who passed away Saturday, July 4, 2026 at Piedmont Regional Hospital in Athens, Georgia, was born January 19, 1950, in Lee County, Alabama.
Public viewing will be Friday, July 17, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.
He leaves to cherish his memory: three children, Dexter Lamar Jones of Maplesville, AL, Carlos (Teresa) Jones of Mossy Head, FL and Edkenjunta (Yamakesha) Jones of Prattville, AL; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one sister, Johnnie Mae (Willie) Jones of Opelika, AL; one brother, Willie James (Vicky) Jones of Opelika, AL; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
The family of the late Reverend Dr. Eddie Jones, Jr. acknowledges with grateful appreciation all acts of kindness, prayers, cards, telephone calls, flowers, and words of comfort extended to us during our time of bereavement. May God bless each of you.
