Funeral service for Rickey Core, Jr., 41, of Opelika, AL, will be at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, July 19, 2025, at Harris Funeral Home Chapel with interment in Garden Hills Cemetery, 1218 Frederick Road, Opelika, AL, 36801, Reverend Thomas Betts, Officiating, Reverend Charles Rutledge, Eulogist.

Mr. Core, who passed away Saturday, July 12, 2025 at Select Specialty Hospital in Birmingham, Alabama, was born April 21, 1984, in Lee County, Alabama.

Public viewing will be Friday, July 18, 2025, from 2:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.

He leaves to cherish his memory: two children, Jenecia Madden and Jacarious Madden; father, Rickey (Bobbie) Core, Sr. of Opelika, AL; mother, Anita Baker of Opelika, AL; four siblings, Shalaundra (John) Core, Leandre (Katie) Core, Deangelo Edward and Casey Core all of Opelika, AL; eight aunts and uncles, Weylin Myhand, Kennedy (Holly) Reese, Andrea (Charlie) Baker, Calvie Barnett, Forrest Core, Jr., Sonja Core, Barbara Core and Stephanie (Doug) Jones all of Opelika, AL; six great-aunts, Rita Thomas, Dale Dubose both of Auburn, AL, Hattie Morris of Opelika, AL, Molly Jones of Opelika, AL, Annie Whatley of Salem, AL and Arenstine Jones of Salem, AL,; two great-uncles, Olin (Mary) Norwood of Salem, AL and Gregory (Berneza) Norwood of Columbus, GA; six special nieces, Harmony, Deryanna, Destiny, Davina, Delayna and Dacy; two special cousins, Casino Norwood and Nicole Holloway; one special friend, Dezman Harris of Opelika, AL; a host of other relatives and friends.
