Obituary For Ronnie “Short Dog” Reese

Funeral service for Ronnie Reese, 70, of Auburn, AL, will be at 12:00 noon, Tuesday, October 29, 2024, at Mt. Vernon Missionary Baptist Church, 4881 US Highway 29 South, Auburn, AL, 36830, Reverend Thomas Brown will officiate.

Mr. Reese, who passed away Wednesday, October 23, 2024, at the East Alabama Medical Center in Opelika, AL, was born January 15, 1954, in Lee County, Alabama.

Public viewing will be Monday, October 28, 2024, from 2:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.

Mr. Reese will lie in repose at the church one hour prior to the service.

He leaves to cherish his precious memory: three children, Tony Dunn, Brian Philpot and Eric Philpot all of Auburn, AL; seven grandchildren, Ivan (Amber) Tolbert, Ouvia Dunn, Antonio Dunn, Chandler Briggs, Ariana Philpot, Amya Delmonte and Tamarius Philpot; one great-grandchild, Ska Bickerstaff; four sisters, Myrtis Henderson, Enette Reese, Pat (Reverend Chester) Levett, Sharon Reese all of Auburn, AL; four brothers, Willie Frank Reese of Tuskegee, AL, Pompie Lee Dowdell, John (Jeanette) Reese and Bobby Reese all of Auburn, AL; one sister-in-law, Jennifer Reese of Auburn, AL; three aunts, Marion (Boss) Oliver of Auburn, AL, Evonne (John) Yancey of Atlanta, GA and Virginia Finley of Newnan, GA; special caregiver, Carlotta Reese of Auburn, AL; four friends, Franklin Tyner, James Knight, Reginald Sistrunk and Timothy Finely all of Auburn, AL; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
