Funeral service for Rosie Johnson, 85, of Auburn, AL, will be at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, August 29, 2026, at Harris Funeral Home Chapel with interment in Evergreen Cemetery, 1409 Monroe Avenue, Opelika, AL 36801, Reverend Bernard Anderson will officiate.
Mrs. Johnson, who passed away Sunday, August 23, 2026 at her home in Auburn, Alabama, was born March 31, 1941, in Macon County, Alabama.
Public viewing will be Friday, August 28, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. โ 6:00 p.m.
She leaves to cherish her memory: four children, Jasper (Brenda) Watts, Patricia (Tommy) Dowdell both of Auburn, AL, William Jefferson Johnson, Jr. of Columbus, OH and Johnnie Wesley (Bernice) Johnson of Columbus, GA; four special grandchildren, Tomarcus Darnez Dowdell, Riptavious Jayden Johnson, Jamil Lockhart all of Auburn, AL and Nicole (Henry II) Moultrie of Pelham, AL; fourteen grandchildren; a host of great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mattie Will (Amos) Kirk of Chattanooga, TN and Lizzie (Joe) Love of Waverly, AL; one brother, Joseph (Mary) Watts of Waverly, AL; two sisters-in-law, Jean Johnson of Opelika, AL and Yvonne Watts of Frostproof, FL; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
