Obituary For Samantha “Shug” Oliver Philpot

Funeral service for Samantha Philpot, 89, of Auburn, AL, will be at 11:00 a.m., Monday, May 5, 2025, at Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church, 2641 US Highway 29 North, Auburn, AL, 36830 with interment in the church cemetery, Reverend Chester Levett will officiate.

Mrs. Philpot, who passed away Tuesday, April 29, 2025 was born March 15, 1936, in Macon County, Alabama.

Public viewing will be Sunday, May 4, 2025 from 2:00 p.m. – 6:00 pm.

Mrs. Philpot will lie in repose at the church one hour prior to the service.

She leaves to cherish her precious memory: three children, Annie M. Stevenson of Tuskegee, AL, Barbara Jean Mitchell and Alexis J. (Cynthia) Oliver both of Auburn, AL; ten grandchildren, Terri (Kevin) Dowdell of Opelika, AL. Amy Reynolds of Phenix City, AL. Brian (Erika) Reynolds of Birmingham, AL, Alexis Reynolds, Erica Key both of Auburn, AL, Gail Key of Opelika, AL, Melody Key of Tuskegee, AL, Alexis N. Oliver of Auburn, AL, Cierra Reynolds and Nafalia Jones both of Tuskegee, AL; one sister, Estelle Oliver of Syracuse, NY; a host of great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
