Obituary For SGM (Retired) Robert Rex Collins
Funeral service for Robert Collins, 66, of Opelika, AL, will be at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, June 20, 2026, at Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church, 2000 South Uniroyal Road, Opelika, AL, 36801 with interment in Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, Virginia, Reverend Dr. George C. McCulloh will officiate.
Mr. Collins, who passed away Saturday, June 13, 2026, at his home in Opelika, Alabama, was born August 11, 1959, in Macon County, Alabama.
Public viewing will be Friday, June 19, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.
Mr. Collins will lie in repose at the church one hour prior to the service.
He leaves behind to cherish his memories: wife, Myrna Ford-Collins; four children, Tiffany Collins, Eric Collins, Desiree Collins and Malcolm Collins; one stepdaughter, Aishia Ford; seven grandchildren; three siblings, Henry “Hank” (Cynthia) Collins II, Robin Collins and Doris Collins; one aunt, Clara Cooper; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
The family of the late Mr. Robert Rex Collins acknowledges with grateful appreciation all acts of kindness, prayers, cards, telephone calls, flowers, and words of comfort extended to us during our time of bereavement. May God bless each one of you.
