Obituary For Shirley Ann "Aunt Squirl" Thomas
Funeral service for Shirley Thomas, 59, of Opelika, AL, will be at 12:00 noon, Friday, June 12, 2026, at Harris Funeral Home Chapel with interment in Bethel No.1 Baptist Church Cemetery, 2324 Double Hill Road, Opelika, AL 36801, Reverend Curtis Vines will officiate.
Ms. Thomas, who passed away Sunday, June 7, 2026 at Atrium Health Floyd Medical Center in Rome, Georgia, was born April 18, 1967, in Lee County, Alabama.
Public viewing will be Thursday, June 11, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.
She leaves to cherish her memory: one sister, Gloria Jean Reese of Opelika, AL; two brothers, Willie L. Thomas and Michael E. Thomas both of Opelika, AL; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
The family of the late Ms. Shirley Ann Thomas acknowledges with grateful appreciation all acts of kindness, prayers, cards, telephone calls, flowers, and words of comfort extended to us during our time of bereavement. May God bless each of you.
