Obituary For Steven Anthony “Steve” Roberts
Funeral service for Steven Roberts, 65, of Opelika, AL, will be at 12:00 noon, Wednesday. January 3, 2024, at Bethesda Missionary Baptist Church, 201 South 4th Street, Opelika, AL, 36801 with interment in Garden Hills Cemetery, 1218 Frederick Road, Opelika, AL, 36801, Reverend Anthony Pogue will officiate.
Mr. Roberts, who passed away Wednesday, December 27, 2023, at the East Alabama Medical Center in Opelika, Alabama, was born November 22, 1958, in Carrollton, Georgia.
Public viewing will be Tuesday, January 2, 2024, from 2:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.
Mr. Roberts will lie in repose at the church one hour prior to the service.
He leaves to cherish his memory: wife of 20 years, Rosa Roberts of Opelika, AL; seven children, Christopher (LaShelle) Roberts-Edwards of Alma, GA, Jenea Whitaker, Sherika (Lennon) Whitlow, Ladwier Rashaad Mitchell all of Opelika, AL, Renita Pugh of Sharpsburg, GA, Steven Xavier (Lakisha) Roberts of Phoenix, AZ and Victoria Roberts of Baton Rouge, LA; father, Orville Roberts of Opelika, AL; one brother, Michael Roberts of Opelika, AL; two sisters, Michelle Roberts of McDonough, GA and Stephanie (Anthony) Redmon of Simpsonville, SC; one uncle, John Alvin (Karin) Roberts of Steilacoom, WA; one aunt, Bettye Roberts of Carrollton, GA; three brothers-in-law Calvin Ferguson, Michael (Charlene) Ferguson and Homer Fergerson all of Opelika, AL; two sisters-in-law, Patricia Fergerson and Joyce Coad both of Opelika, AL; one sister-in-law, Elizabeth Fergerson Mallett of Killeen, TX; thirteen grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
