Obituary For Susie Ann Newsome Dinkins
Funeral service for Susie Dinkins, 69, of Opelika, AL, will be 12:00 noon, Saturday, May 6, 2023, at Ferguson Chapel CME Church, 310 South 4th Street, Opelika, AL 36801 with interment in Evergreen Cemetery, 1409 Monroe Avenue, Opelika, AL 36801, Reverend Orlando Sims, Sr., Pastor and Presiding Elder James Q. Smith, Eulogist.
Mrs. Dinkins, who passed away Friday, April 28, 2023 at East Alabama Medical Center in Opelika, AL, was born July 18, 1953 in Lee County, Alabama.
Public viewing will be Friday, May 5, 2023, from 4:00 p.m. โ 6:00 p.m. (Facial covering is required.)
Mrs. Dinkins will lie in repose at the church one hour prior to the service.
She leaves to cherish her memory: one son, Rodney (Marilyn) Dinkins of Opelika, AL; six grandchildren, Tekela Yarbrough of Lanett, AL, Bernicia Johnson, Lakedra Kindred both of Opelika, AL, Nakia Kindred (Daniel) Edwards of Valdosta, GA, DeAndre (Erica) Jackson and Apollo Jackson both of Auburn, AL; thirteen great-grandchildren; one sister, Patricia Gunn of Opelika, AL; one brother, Bob (Janice) Newsome, Sr. of Radcliff, KY; three sisters-in-law, Ella Love, Louise Pitts both of Opelika, AL and Inell Guice of Atlanta, GA; one brother-in-law, Charles (Pearl) Dinkins of Opelika, AL; a devoted cousin, Jimmy Lee Johnson of Phenix City, AL; her special friends, โThe Girlsโ; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
