Obituary For Sylvester “Syl” “Big Newt” Newton
Funeral service for Sylvester Newton, 80, will be at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, February 20, 2025, at Harris Funeral Home Chapel with interment in Pine Level Cemetery, 4650 Arrow Head Road, Loachapoka, AL, 36865, Reverend Otis Tyner, Jr. will officiate.
Mr. Newton, who passed away Sunday, February 9, 2025 at Diversicare Health and Rehabilitation Center in Montgomery, Alabama, was born March 14, 1944, in Bradley, Arkansas.
Public viewing will be Wednesday, February 19, 2025 from 2:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.
He leaves to cherish his memory: his wife of twenty-seven years, Mozell Newton of Loachapoka, AL; one daughter, Lisa (Ronald) Newton Quinn of Tuskegee, AL; five grandchildren, JoAnn C. Quinn of Fayetteville, NC, Alexandria H. Quinn of Tuskegee, AL, Candi Marshall of Dallas, TX, Jerami Wilkins of Monticello, AR and Kristal Wilkins of Little Rock, AR; five great-grandchildren; three sisters, Renell Hatch, Marvie Trotter both of Chicago, IL and Bernice Hampton of Fordyce, AR; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
