Funeral service for Tommie Alford, 87, of Opelika, AL, will be at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, January 27, 2024, at New Mount Sellers Missionary Baptist Church, 660 Avenue A South East, LaFayette, AL 36862 with interment in the Church Cemetery, Reverend Terry Magby will officiate.
Mr. Alford, who passed away Monday, January 22, 2024 at the East Alabama Medical Center in Opelika, Alabama, was born April 4, 1936, in Chambers County, Alabama.
Public viewing will be Friday, January 26, 2024 from 2:00 p.m. β 6:00 p.m.
Mr. Alford will lie in repose at the church one hour prior to the service.
He leaves to cherish his precious memory: three children, Walter Lee Alford of Auburn, AL, Willie James (Brenda Ann) Alford and Martha βKateβ (Ricky) Benford both of Opelika, AL; nine grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren; one brother, Willie Joe Alford of Lanett, AL; three brothers-in-law, Willie Kirk, Brooksie Kirk, Jr., both of Opelika, AL and Willie Ralph Evans of LaFayette, AL; three sisters-in-law, Annie Kirk of Austell, GA, Mary (Larry) Sumlin of Rex, GA and Louise (Edward) Love of Opelika, AL; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Happy Belated Birthday. I miss you so much and calling to make sure that you was alright, not to mention the laughs that we had too. Continue to rest grampy. YOU fought a GOOD fight, enter thy master's joy. Put on YOUR long white robe. ποΈποΈποΈποΈ
