Obituary For Tonya Lea Shorter
Funeral service for Tonya Shorter, 61, of Auburn, AL, will be at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, October 24, 2026, at Bethesda Missionary Baptist Church, 201 South 4th Street, Opelika, AL, 36801, Reverend Anthony Pogue will officiate.
Ms. Shorter, who passed away Thursday, October 8, 2026 at East Alabama Medical Center in Opelika, Alabama, was born March 16, 1965, in Macon County, Alabama.
Public viewing will be Friday, October 23, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.
Ms. Shorter will lie in repose at the church one hour prior to the service.
The family of Ms. Tonya Lea Shorter acknowledges with grateful appreciation all acts of kindness, prayers, cards, telephone calls, flowers, and words of comfort extended to us during our time of bereavement. May God bless each of you.
