Obituary For Willie Fred "Freddie" Williams

Funeral service for Willie Williams, 69, of Auburn, AL, will be at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, October 5, 2024, at Gateway Family Church, 1221 Commerce Drive, Auburn, Alabama 36830, Pastor Michael Allen will officiate.

Mr. Williams, who passed away Monday, September 23, 2024 at his home in Auburn, Alabama, was born June 22, 1955, in Chicago, Illinois.

Public viewing will be Friday, October 4, 2024 from 2:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.

Mr. Williams will lie in repose at the church one hour prior to the service.

He attended Limblom Technical High School in Chicago, Illinois where he excelled in mathematics and enjoyed his favorite sport, basketball.

“Freddie”, as he was affectionately known by family and friends, was a high academic achiever and received a scholarship from Illinois Institute of Technology. He obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Business Management which led to a successful career as a CPA.

He leaves to mourn and celebrate his life: three children, Natara (Michael) Allen of Auburn, AL, Courtney Slaughter of Chicago, IL and Collin Williams of Texas; five grandchildren, Ryan, Rejoice, Christian, Carriagton and Joey; nine siblings, Dorothy Brown, Jeanette Willaims, Keith Campbell, Sandra Campbell, Phillip Campbell, Taylor Campbell, James Campbell, Lois Sheffey all of Chicago, IL and Ethel Crawley of Richmond, VA; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
