Graveside service for Willie James Pitts, Sr., 68, of Opelika, AL, will be at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 15, 2023, at Westview Cemetery, 700 Westview Drive, Auburn, AL, 36830, Reverend Anthony Shealey will officiate.

Mr. Pitts, who passed away Wednesday, March 8, 2023, at East Alabama Medical Center in Opelika, AL, was born February 23, 1955 in Lee County, Alabama.

Public viewing will be Tuesday, March 14, 2023, from 2:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. (Facial covering is required)

He leaves to cherish his memories: four children, Melvin Pitts of Loachapoka, AL, Jessika (Abayomi) Toki of Douglasville, GA, Willie James Pitts, Jr. and Barbara Greer both of Auburn, AL; fiancée of twenty-three years Sherry Lockhart of Auburn, AL; four sisters, Mattie Mae Martin, Maggie Mae Hutchinson, Florine Pitts and Betty Graves all of Loachapoka, AL; fifteen grandchildren, Jeffrey B. Martin, Deidre Martin, Xavious Holland, Brittany Bedell, Jeremy Love, Kyrtesi Pitts, Deanthony Greer, Demetrius Hicks, T’Najah Williams, Jasmine Smith, Jamarcus Mitchell, Rodricquez Pitts, Tamara Pitts, Wiltrel Pitts and Kyree Pitts; four aunts, Ruthie Mae Smith, Mary Bell Smith both of Auburn, AL, Sadie Bell Smith of Eufaula, AL and Katie Bass of Loachapoka, AL; two uncles, Joe Lewis Spratling of Auburn, AL and Lee Pitts of Birmingham, AL; one sister-in-law, Stella Pitts of Auburn, AL; host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
