Obituary For Willie James "Tooty Bug" Ligon, Jr.
Graveside service for Willie Ligon, 63, of Auburn, AL, will be at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, December 19, 2020, at Zion At the Hill A.M.E. Zion Church Cemetery, 3845 Lee Road 29, Opelika, AL 36804, Reverend Patrick Ivey will officiate.
Mr. Ligon, who passed away Saturday, December 12, 2020 at his home in Auburn, Alabama, was born June 3, 1957 in Macon County, Alabama.
Public viewing for Mr. Ligon will be Friday, December 18, 2020, from 4:00 p.m. β 6:00 p.m.
He leaves to cherish his memories: wife, Belinda Ligon of Auburn, AL; daughter, Sumiko βMeekβ Ligon of Birmingham, AL; one brother, Willie Lewis (Sadie) Ligon of Auburn, AL; four sisters, Mary Ligon of Atlanta, GA, Brenda (Kevin) Lewis of Opelika, AL, Diane Ivey of Columbus, GA and Sarah (Edward) Moss of Auburn, AL; brother-in-law, Orthella Calloway of Montgomery, AL; two special nephews, Demetrious Ligon of Opelika, AL and Linzie Askew of Atlanta, GA; devoted friends, Lorenza Finley, Marcus Calloway of Opelika, AL, Tony Lockhart and Anthony Walker both of Auburn, AL; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
CDC recommends that people wear cloth face coverings in public settings when around people outside of their household, especially when other social distancing measures are difficult to maintain.

Sending condolences and thoughts and prayers to the Ligon Family. We're so distraught and heartbroken over the home going of our first cousin,Tooter Bug, not Tooty, Tooter Bug. We're first cousins, but more like sisters and brothers having spent nights together, played together and sat up late many nights singing and watching Tooter slide across the floor doing the James Brown and the camel walk cracking jokes and he had the funniest laugh like a squealing pig.He would always ask me," Laine y'all ain't got no syrup and I would say yes look in the cabinet", he loved syrup and jelly with his biscuits, he didn't call me Deb, called me Laine. I was little but I remember like it was yesterday, he was the kindest, gentle soul and wouldn't harm a gnat and I'm so hard broken and haven't slept since this senseless tragedy's taken place, were so weak I had to bring my own chair to sit in, never had to do that before,alots of stones are unturned. I wished that I had known that you needed a shoulder to lean on or someone to talk to, I would've been there to rescue you, you had so many people whom you could've turned to for comfort. I just can't believe that you're gone but only God knows best.RIP Tooter Bug and we love and miss you dearly. The Tyner Family
