Columbus, Georgia - SSGT (Retired) Arthur Lewis was born April 18, 1934 to the late Robert and Roddie Lewis, Sr. He departed this life March 12, 2021 quietly at home.

Graveside services will be held 1:00PM today, Wednesday, March 17, 2021 at Ft Mitchell National Cemetery, Ft Mitchell, Alabama with military honors accorded according to Hill-Watson-People's Funeral Service LLC, 1605 3rd Avenue, 706-327-9293 . SSGT Lewis retired from the U.S. Army after 21 years of service, with two tours to Vietnam. Left to cherish his memory is devoted wife of 69 years, Louise Ross Lewis; Children, Shelley Joyce and Sylvia Carlos of Columbus, GA, Donald Lewis of Norcross, GA, Judy Pennyman and Anna (Steven) Prosser of Chattanooga, TN.

One daughter and granddaughter that preceded him in death Shirley Walton and Bridget Harris. Three living sisters, Ms. Joann (Roosevelt) Sparks of Phoenix City, AL, Ms. Dorothy JamesWarner Robins, GA and Ms. Deloris Barnes of Detroit, MI. Grandchildren, Tina Wooden, Ulrick John, Christopher (Tammy) Walton, Tiffany John, Nokomis Croney, III, Jillian (J.D.) Kilby, Katrina Carlos and Whitney Pennyman; Great-grand and great-great-grandchildren who loved and adored him along with many other family members and friends.
