I extend my deepest sympathy to Mr. Cornell's Family; I serve as the Tax Assessor/Collector in Claiborne County, MS, Cornell was indeed a very kind professional, most appreciative of the interactions at the MACA conferences. Praying that God will be gracious granting strength and peace to his family. May the precious memories forevermore bloom in garden of your hearts. Diane T. Davaul
I am so sorry for your loss. Thinking and praying for y'all during this difficult time.
I had the privilege of working with Cornell during his time at Surdex. He was always kind and helpful, and we often had conversations in his office about mapping experiences. Cornell generously shared his knowledge and was always willing to assist others. After he began working remotely, whenever visiting the main office, he made a point to stop by and catch up. He often brought donuts for the production staff during these visits— something he did not need to do but reflected how much he cared about others. Cornell will be deeply missed both professionally and personally. My thoughts and prayers are with his family during this difficult time.
I worked with Cornell for four years from 2020 to 2024, and spoke to him most days. He was a good man; easy to get along with, hard working, responsive. He had a great love of his family and spoke of them often with pride and humor. I'm sorry for your loss, and I hope that you can find some comfort as you navigate this difficult season.
I had the pleasure of meeting Cornell back in 1978 while he visited his brother, Kenneth, at Tougaloo College. He was always lively and had a zest for life. My deceased husband was Kenneth's roommate, so we would see one another from time to time on campus. Fast forward, six years ago, we re-engaged at a MACA meeting, where Cornell and Greg were elated to see each other again after 40 years. I missed seeing Cornell at the last two meetings. I was totally unaware of any health issues he may have been facing. This one thing I know, he was a good man who loved and provided well for his family. May his family find comfort, understanding, and peace during this time. You have my heartfelt sympathy. Denise
I will be praying for the family during this time of loss. Cornell was very helpful to me and just there whenever I needed anything. He helped me when we were doing our remapping in 2018. Bob Maddox , Tax Assessor in Prentiss County (Mississippi).
I pray that God will grant you peace and comfort during this time of loss. I became acquainted with Mr. Cornell in Mississippi in 2017 when he worked on the aerial initiative here. He was a good man. Charles Williams, Stone County Tax Assessor/Collector
I had the privilege of working alongside Cornell for 15 years, and in that time he became more than just a colleague, a friend — he was a constant source of positivity, laughter and always ready to help, I really respected his dedication and his knowledge. There was hardly a day when his name wasn't spoken, typed whether through emails or phone calls about the projects we worked on together. His presence was part of our daily work, and his legacy will continue to live on in the countless memories of working together, especially the invoices for Virginia. Cornell was truly a pleasure to work with, and he will be deeply missed. My deepest condolences to his family. Lorie Thomas
