Death seems especially proud today, standing tall as it reaches once again into the circle of people I hold closest to my heart. Another one of my dear lifelong friends, someone I've known since 1977, has gone on to meet the Maker. It's difficult to put into words the weight of this loss. Reginald "Red Doc" Warren was far more than a friend, far more than a classmate, and far more than a teammate. He was my brother in every sense that truly matters. We shared countless memories: the blood, the sweat, the tears, the laughter, and the quiet moments that stitched our lives together over decades. On and off the field, through victories and disappointments, through the changes of youth and the challenges of adulthood, he remained steady, genuine, and loyal. We passed the word "Cap'n" back and forth like a badge of honor, a title that meant as much to us as our own names. What hurts most is knowing that this is one passing I will never fully get over. Yet I'm grateful that our paths crossed again just three months ago while honoring another classmate's passing. Even in grief, we found connection. Now, I carry his memory forward.

I love you, Cap'n.

To our dearest Reginald and the entire Warren Family....It is with sadness that I write these words because our families were family from the beginning starting as next door neighbors on Holly St. and then transitioning to part of the Turner High School Family Alumni....Our roots run deep...the friendship that our parents established continued throughout the years through us....Reginald, you will truly be missed, but definitely not forgotten. Tina McCrimon Amadasun and mom, Ann McCrimon...

There are not enough words to express my affection for "Red," my childhood friend from birth. Our older sisters, Poochie and LindaBoo, were best friends. We caught tadpoles in the creek, and lightning bugs in the yard. We partied at Charles Disco and skated at Westside Skating Rink on Mason Turner. If you know, you know! We walked to Maddox Park in the summer to swim, where he eventually got a job as the lifeguard and would let us in free. On Christmas, we would have downhill Flyaways skate competitions. Later, we both joined the Fulton County Sheriff's Department. Recently, Red was excited to spearhead a Woodlawn Avenue reunion. Well, he has completed that goal, because we will all be together for the service. I will miss our daily text messages and him shouting out my childhood nickname, "Patrick" from across the room. Job Well Done, Red!!! Love Always, Petrine Thrasher Bennett

I met Reginald at Fulton County Jail and he was so kind. He would always say "Tell The Truth". I'm not sure what that means even to this day. lol. I had no idea at that time you knew my family. It's a small world. I'm so glad we had our final conversation a few months ago and I asked you if you knew the Lord. Your answer was yes. I pray strength and peace for your family and close friends. I pray that this is an opportunity for those that love you to understand that life is short. I also ask that if you don't know Jesus Christ as your personal Savior that you take this time to search your heart and cry out to Him for the true peace that only He gives. Life is short and we are not promised tomorrow. Accept, Believe in and Confess Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Savior. Turn from a life of sin and make a commitment to read, study, pray and follow Him all the days of your life. It won't be easy but He promises to never leave nor forsake you. Romans 10:9
