Visitation for Nathaniel Forbes of Poinciana is Saturday March 14, 2026 from 10:00-10:50 a.m. at Poinciana Pentecostal House of Prayer 4715 Old Pleasant Hill Road, Kissimmee, Fl. 34759. Service will begin one hour before noon.
Nathaniel Douglas Forbes, affectionately known as “Dougie”, 92, passed away peacefully on February 16, 2026. Born on April 17, 1933, in Malvern Village, St. Elizabeth, Jamaica, he was the beloved son of Stanford Forbes and Annie Russell.
Nathaniel’s journey eventually led him to Kingston, Jamaica. There, he met and married Eulahlee Forbes, and together they shared 56 years of marriage, building a life rooted in faith and family. Upon retiring, they moved to Poinciana, Florida, where they found a vibrant spiritual community at the Poinciana Pentecostal House of Prayer.
A man of quiet talent and steady hands, Nathaniel was a gifted baker by trade, dedicating many years of hard work to the Royal Caribbean Bakery. He understood better than anyone that the best things in life, like a perfect loaf of bread or a sturdy chair, took time, patience, and heart.
He spent countless hours doing what he loved most: gardening, baking, and woodworking. As a gifted woodworker, he found a particular peace on his back porch and in the shade of his garden, where he spent his afternoons crafting stools and chairs by hand.
The years he spent in the garden, and in the kitchen, taught him a lifelong respect for the land and a work ethic that never wavered. He understood that the best things in life, like a good crop, a perfect loaf of bread, or a sturdy chair, took time, patience, and care to craft.
Beyond his many skills, Dougie was a man whose greatest masterpiece was the life he built for his family. He was a provider in the truest sense. Whether it was the long hours at the bakery to ensure a stable home, or the way he nurtured his garden to share its harvest, his every action was an act of love. He didn't just provide for their needs, he provided a foundation of faith, a steady presence on the porch, and a legacy of kindness that his children and grandchildren carry with them today
He was a familiar and welcoming face in his neighborhood; everyone who passed by or stopped to chat knew his unique, warm smile—a gift that will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
Nathaniel is survived by his devoted wife, Eulahlee Forbes of St. Catherine, Jamaica; his two children, Collin Forbes (St. Elizabeth, Jamaica) and Raquel Forbes (Kingston, Jamaica); and his sister, Cynthia Hall, sister Alda Morgan, and brother Sebert Powell.
His legacy continues through his seven grandchildren: Shane, Shannice, Shavon, Shantel, Collin Jr., Whitney, and Abegayle; and his seven great-grandchildren: Samara, Mia, Julien, Aria, Avery, Khaled, and Steve.
He also leaves behind a wide circle of extended family, including many beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins. His presence will be deeply missed by his many dear friends within the Poinciana community.
