Virginia McDonald was born on April 1, 1943 in Henry County, Alabama to James and Kathreen Daniels McDonald.
At an early age, Virginia joined Little Rocky Mt. Freewill Baptist Church, Tumbleton, AL. She attended Headland High School. Virginia worked for Wex-Tex Fabric Mills, Ashford, AL and Nelson Beauty Salon in Dothan, AL. She was united in holy matrimony for 60+ years to Rev. Archie Crews.
Virginia departed this life on Friday, March 25, 2022. She is preceded in death by her parents, James and Kathreen Daniels McDonald; four sisters, Rose Crews, Addie Springfield, Linda Buzz, and Alice Allen; one sister-in-law, Doreen Flucker and one brother-in-law, Jimmy Flucker.
She leaves to cherish her memories: her husband, Archie Crews; three sons, Jimmy Brown, George (Angela) Crews, J.D. (Towana) Crews; one daughter, Mary A. (Willie) Barber; four brothers, Jessie (Evie Mae) McDonald, Sr., Frank (Jewel) McDonald, Samuel McDonald, and Morris McDonald; six sisters, Florene Pierce, Willie Mae Freeman, Essie Allen, Gloria Allen, Oteliam McDonald, and Martha Ann McDonald; brothers-in-law, Cleveland Crews, Sr. and Willie Marvin (Gwen) Crews; sisters-in-law, Dolly (Jimmy) McGowan and Della (George) Malberry; 14 grandchildren, a host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Graveside service was held on Friday, April 1, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at Little Rocky Mt. Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery, 332 County Rd. 270, Tumbleton, AL.
