Bridgette La’Fon Bowen, age 42, of Rice, VA, entered eternal rest on Wednesday, January 14, 2026, leaving behind a life beautifully lived and deeply cherished. Born June 3, 1983, in Richmond, VA, she filled her 42 years with laughter, love, and unforgettable moments that will continue to inspire all who knew her.

Bridgette was baptized at an early age and became a member of Amelia Baptist Church of Rice, VA. Bridgette was educated in the Prince Edward County Public School System and graduated from Prince Edward County High School in 2001. She attended Johnson & Wales University, studying Culinary Cuisine.

Bridgette had a radiant spirit and a heart that knew no limits. She celebrated life fully-loving fiercely, giving generously, and showing up for others in both big and small ways. Her presence brought warmth, her laughter brought light, and her strength lifted those around her.

She delighted in cooking, family gatherings, faith, helping others, and she had a special gift for turning ordinary moments into meaningful memories. Above all, she loved time spent with the people she loved. Bridgette was known for being the family nanny. She took care of her niece, nephew, and several of her younger cousins as if they were her own.

She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, William and Jerlean Bowen, and her maternal grandfather, Samuel Rice

She is joyfully remembered by her father, Calvin Bowen, her mother, Jacqueline Jackson, and stepfather Ernest Jackson; two sisters, Tamika Claiborne and her twin Calvette Bowen; her nephew, Alexander Claiborne; her niece Alanna Claiborne; maternal grandmother, Cora Rice; a special little niece, Olivia; aunts, uncles, cousins, a host of extended family and friends. A special friend, James Allen Jr, who was blessed to share life with her. Her legacy lives onthrough the love she gave, the lives she touched, and the countless memories she created.

Though her time here was brief, her impact was powerful, and her light will continue to shine in every heart she touched.
