Jenny Bell Hix Chambers entered eternal rest at 11:15PM on December 27, 2025 at Appomattox Health and Rehabilitation Center in Appomattox, Virginia. She was born March 18, 1931 to Jessie L. Hix, Sr. and Annie Gilliam Hix.
At an early age, Jenny confessed Christ as her savior, was baptized and joined Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church in Hixburg where she remained an active member until her health began to fail. She received her education through the Hixburg School. Growing up, she worked on the family farm along with her siblings and other family members. She was married to William McKinley Chambers and was the devoted mother of four sons.
She was a loving, caring and devoted mother, sister, grandmother, aunt, cousin and friend who unselfishly provided for her family. She enjoyed spending time with family, planning family gatherings, playing with the grandkids, working in the field, cooking, baking sweet potato pies, going to the cannery and feeding anyone who came over to visit.
Jenny was preceded in death by her parents Jessie Hix, Sr. and Annie Gilliam Hix; her husband, William McKinley Chambers; siblings, Annie Johnson, Ollie Mae Patterson, Betty Watson, Gertrude Buckley, Robert Hix, Sr., Luther Hix, Jessie Hix, Jr., Rosa McCleod; two sons, Bobby Gene Chambers and William Chambers; one grandson, Terrance Chambers and one great-grandson, Isaiah Watson.
She leaves to cherish many fond memories; two sons, Crosby Earl Chambers (Rosa Linda), Harry Troxler (Linda); daughter-in-law, Doretha Chambers; sister-in-law, Lois Hix; eight grandchildren, Earl Troxler (Tiffani), Sharalla Scott, Shantay Watson (Tyrone), Cedric Troxler (Nichole), Tamara Troxler, Shana Chambers, Tiffany Jones (Anthony) and Tonya Chambers; sixteen great-grandchildren, Tae’quan Troxler, Tajha Troxler, Dre Davis (Danielle), Karisma Watson, Sarenity Watson, Malik Simpson, Aleeah Troxler, Izaiah Troxler, Pazia Scott, Tasya Troxler-Scott, Zephaniah Troxler-Scott, Atoine Cashwell, Mychel (MJ) Pusha, Xavier Jones, Braylon Jones, LaNyia Jones, London Chambers, Tracen Chambers and Davontay Scott; five great-great grandchildren, Truili Troxler, Malik Simpson, Jr., Ma’laiya Simpson, Weston Cashwell and Aurora Cashwell; six adopted daughters, Regina Smith, Trish Buckley, Sharon Morgan, Erica Morgan, Victoria (Tori) Evans and Harmonie Elliott; two devoted neighbors, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Barth and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
