John Addeberry White, Jr.

John Addeberry White, Jr. was born on July 9, 1944 in Buckingham County, VA to John White, Sr. and Grace Jones White. John grew up in a close-knit community, where he attended school and enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He was known and loved for his warm smile, charming demeanor, profound sense of humor, love of family, and an appreciation for good food and fun times.

John bravely ventured out from his hometown roots and moved to the Washington, DC area to pursue a career in law enforcement. After retiring from the Prince George’s County Police Department and Federal Express, John went into business for himself and founded Tri State Security and Investigations in 1997.

Aside from his professional career, John had a passion for classic automobiles and racing. With an extensive knowledge of cars and automotive engineering, John was able to acquire and maintain his own impressive collection of cars and racing components. One of his favorite pastimes was going to the racetrack and attending local car shows with his buddies.

John departed from this life on the afternoon of Monday, January 29, 2024 when he passed away peacefully at his home in Welcome, MD. He is preceded into death by his parents and younger brother, Arthur (Ben) White. He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Christine White; daughter, Stephanie White; step-daughters, Retina Gaskins and LaTasha Kerksey; son-in-law Artesian Kerksey; grandchildren, Jaylen Gaskins, Mekiah Kerksey, Azryel Kerksey, and Braylon Kerksey; sister, Eloise Jones; nieces Andrea Jones and Latanya Jones; and a host of other beloved family members and friends.
