Ralph Newlester Gregory went home to meet the Lord on Friday, February 16, 2024, from his Scottsville, Virginia residence after a brief illness.

He was born in Dillwyn, Virginia on June 14, 1937 to the late James T. and Jennie Mae Gregory. Ralph accepted Christ at an early age and joined Baptist Union Baptist Church. He remained an active member until his health declined. He served as an usher for over 40 years. He attended Deep Bottom School. He later went to work at Uniroyal and was also as log ruck driver. He ended his employment years at the University of Virginia. He was a long-time member of the Keystone Masonic Lodge in Buckingham County.

He was preceded in death by: his parents, James and Jennie Gregory; a brother, Joseph Gregory; and a daughter, Laura Gregory Simpkins. He is survived by: his devoted wife, Estelle Gregory; two daughters, Judy
Scruggs, and Elaine Scruggs; one son, Charles Gregory (Deidre); five sisters, Annette Gregory, Katie Bolden (Charlie), Sarah Gregory, Doris Bledsoe (Terrence), and Deloris Conway; three brothers, Richard Gregory, James Gregory, and Marvin Gregory (Nancy); eight grandchildren; eleven
great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Thelma Turner (Phillip); brother-in-law, Aubrey Cottrell (Loretta); special friends, Herman Eldridge and Micky Longhorn; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
