Shawn Christopher Paige was born on September 26, 1971, to the late James Erwin Paige and Georgianna Hicks Knight. He departed this life May 3, 2024, in the comfort of his home.

He received his early education at Prince Edward County Schools and later obtained his GED. He accepted Christ at an early age, was baptized and joined the Calvary Baptist Church, Burkeville, Virginia.

Shawn was an inquisitive, funny, and talented man who loved to work with his hands. He worked for many years alongside his uncles in the construction business. Shawn loved the game of basketball and was often known affectionately as “Scottie” after Scottie Pippen. He was a Los Angeles Lakers fan. Although he loved basketball, he was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan as well.Shawn loved to have fun and was often the life of the party.

He was proceeded in death by his parents, maternal and paternal aunts and uncles, paternal grandparents, as well as his beloved grandmother, Sarah Elizabeth Hicks who raised him.

He leaves to cherish his memory; his aunts Ruby Mildred Bowen, Martha E. Mahan, Barbara J. Spring (Joseph), AlfredaHicks, Emma Hicks, and Rachel Hicks all of Rice, VA; Gertrude Payne of Meherrin, VA, Shelia P. Rich, and Lillie P. Diggs (Glendon) both of Burkeville, VA; uncles Robert L. Hicks (Cheryl), Kenneth W. Hicks, Sr. (Georgia) both of Rice, VA, and Rudolph Paige (Sonji) of Aylett, VA; and a host of cousins and friends.
