This really hit me hard. I'm still trying to process it. We grew up together and stayed friends into adulthood. Our birthdays were always special—mine on the 3rd, yours and your sister's on the 4th—so we never missed wishing each other a happy birthday. From Y... Bassett Elementary, to Y Park, Parker Jr. High, Edwards Jr. High, and Rocky Mount SRH—so many shared memories, so much history. I'm truly blown away by this loss. Matthew, Latoya, Tyesha, Danielle, grandsons and extended family from my family to yours we send our condolences. Risa was such a great blessing many years as a neighbor on Gary Rd. From sharing holiday and Sunday meals together to making sure my daughter hair was done, dropped off and picked up from school when needed.Made sure the boys was fine too! Also would let me know who was there when I wasn't. Had some good times together. She will be truly missed by many. Again in our prayers, Sarah, Jarrod, Darius and Brianna

Oh how I will mis my friend Risa. The cleanest cook I know. She did not play when it came down to preparing food for her husband, family, and friends. I have so many pictures of those good meals. The love she had for her Matthew, her family and especially God was phenomenal. Risa got saved before me and her and Matthews hanging partners was my mom and dad, that's how she became my god-sister.
