I was blessed to have her as my first grade teacher at Wilkinson Elementary School, during the second year of integration in Rocky Mount. She had an extremely positive influence on "a little colored boy from Happy Hill" I am definitely a better person for having known her. I was blessed to see her and Mr. Lawrence over the years at various stages in my life, at every stage Mrs. Lawrence was teaching. I will cherish the memories, and continue to try to make her proud. #RIP
