Rev. Fred Thorpe, 87, passed away Monday March, 31, 2025.
Funeral service 12:00 pm Saturday, April 12, 2025 at Hickory View Baptist Church, 3911 Bulluck School Road, Rocky Mount, NC. 27801 with Pastor Oliver Jenkins, Presiding and Rev. Eddie Wayne Lawrence, Eulogist. Burial will follow at Baker Cemetery.
Visitation 1 hour prior to the service at Hickory View Baptist Church.

Condolences to the Thorpe family. Mr. Thorpe and I worked together in Edgecombe county. He was truly a man of God who always had an encouraging word and was not ashamed of the gospel of Christ. Praying for the family.
Mr. Thorpe was a wonderful co-worker at SWEHS, very reliable, professional, and always willing to share the word of God! I always enjoyed hearing him sing and praise the Lord in the hallways.

My sincere condolences to the family. Rev Thorpe was an awesome man of God. When ever we had a conversation it would never end without the Lord in it. Sometimes when our service end he would have a quick prayer with my wife and she respected him a lot. I will miss my friend but if I hold on to Jesus' hand I will see him again.

Thorpe to come and pray for her. She enjoyed his prayers and she would let us know how much enjoyed Him. Rev. Thorpe was truly a man of God and he did not mind praising God. He always carried his Bible with him ready to preach the word or give you encouragement. Rev. Thorpe we will miss you , but we will remember the blessings that you left us with. To the family hold on to God's unchanging hand for strength. In your time of bereavement just know that if God brought you through this then trust Him to see you through. Rev. Thorpe when I was in my early years of life introduced me to Jesus on a Friday night. I will never forget this man of God. He was a real and he loved the Lord. I remembered telling him I needed something in my life that would last. "He told me to try Jesus" and I did. I will never forget him. To his wife and family you have my prayers. God bless you all.
