Gloria and I go all the way back to elementary school. She helped plan our wedding fifty-eight years ago. We talked candidly and unfiltered every September, our birth month, about the reflections in the mirror and unnecessary changes. There is much to smile about as I travel down memory lane.

I am sure there will be a loud echo from the class of 1963 as I intentionally say, "Thanks for the memories."

May God grant His mercy and grace to each of us for such a time as this.

Gloria Wiggans Hicks was the epitome of servant leadership and a champion for young people in Nash and Edgecombe Counties. As a dedicated board member and past Chair, she served with a loving spirit, always putting the needs of our Club members first. Gloria gave generously of her time, talent, and her treasure, setting the standard for what it means to be a high-performing board member.

Even after her retirement, she remained steadfast in her commitment to the mission and the young people we serve. Her legacy of compassion, leadership, and unwavering support will continue to inspire us all.

We are grateful for her life and her lasting impact on the staff and members of the Boys & Girls Clubs and the community she loved so deeply.
