I had not seen this until today. I was literally thinking and talking about her yesterday. I loved her as a teacher and friend. She was so sweet yet stern. Her motto on men she always told us..... look at his shoes first... that will show what you need to know about his. Love you always and yes when you saw the little blue mustang out our class window you said.. oh I know shes not coming here today.
My heart dropped when I saw the picture of my favorite teacher from SWE. She was always kind and always helped whenever there was a need. I had the great pleasure of being her student and her JC Penney co-worker during the Christmas season. Not to mention a friend of her daughter, Sharon. I know heaven has gained an angel while the world has lost a friend. I pray the family finds comfort in knowing God has welcomed her home.
A classy professional and caring person, Mrs. Harper Stancil, was one of a kind. May the family be comforted during your time of sorrow.

Dear Sharon and Reggie:
Please accept my deepest condolences for your loss. Mrs. Stancil was truly one of the most memorable and influential teachers I've ever had. I had the privilege of being in her English 10 class during my sophomore year of high school, and it quickly became clear that she possessed a rare talent for setting high expectations while making learning both engaging and meaningful. Later, I had the honor of serving as her student assistant—an experience that profoundly shaped my career path. It was because of Mrs. Stancil that I chose to become an English teacher.
When I eventually returned to SWEHS and joined the English Department—the very one in which she inspired countless students like me—I was fortunate to benefit from her mentorship. I often called her to discuss lesson plans, instructional strategies, and student concerns. She was always generous with her time, insight, and encouragement.
Years later, when I became principal of NEHS and faced an unexpected vacancy, Mrs. Stancil graciously came out of retirement to complete the semester. Her ability to instantly connect with her English students, even after years away from the classroom, was nothing short of extraordinary. I will always be deeply grateful for the ways in which Mrs. Stancil challenged, guided, and supported me throughout my journey as an educator. Her influence extended far beyond the classroom, shaping not only my professional path but also my commitment to students. I hope you find comfort in knowing that her legacy lives on through the many lives she touched—she truly made a lasting and meaningful impact.
Sincerely, Derrick
