I will cherish the memory and legacy of Mother Bertha Allen from St. Paul COGIC Days. A dedicated, sweet, non-compromising soul that stood out as a Beacon of Hope Holiness and truly a vessel of Honor. I remember her committed display of Love during her marriage which left an indelible impression on my intellect for LIFE. On a personal note, during the early years of my teaching years, Mother Allen would prepare the "BEST HUSHPUPPIES FOR THIS NEW YORK CHICK" ever for me at EDWARDS TAKEOUT ON NASHVILLE ROAD IN ROCKY MOUNT, NC. Her smile was always contagious and served as a Balm of Healing after such a challenging academic day. Those sweet delectables blessed my pallette and altered the trajectory of my snack treats to another level of delicious. I am praying for Eshe, Yara, Gerald(my Sister Devoir's God-son) and the Family in its entirety. Accept this electronic missive as a Tribute to a Real Lady with a plethora of Honors from Earth to Glory.

Blessings to The Allen Family, The Legacy of Queen Mother will live forever. What an honor and a privilege to be considered a "daughter." I will never forget those hands being laid on my head or the requests that I would send for a "Mother's Prayer." To God BE total gloryyyy for life well-lived. I send a pink candle. Pink evolves comfort, warmth and hope. Ora C. Grooms

Queen Mother was one of a kind. She was the sweetest, nicest, most encouraging woman I had the pleasure and honor to know. She and my mom became the best of friends here on earth and now they both are rejoicing in heaven and for this I am grateful. Eshe' and Yara, you carried out the "Sacred Charge" very well and my continued prayers are with you now and in the days to come. Love yall.
A life long lived and a life well spent only comes from God! I thank God for Mother Berta Allen's life and I am praying that He comfort the family at this time. Even though I wasn't raised around aunt Bertha, I still felt her loving presence through my dad words before his dementia. He would talk about her, and oh how he loved her hair. My memory is wishing her Happy Birthday over the phone some years ago. Hearing her voice and the only that came to mind was "she's sweet like candy". My condolences to the family. Growing up in Little Raleigh, I had the privilege of being one of the children impressed by "Miss Bert". She exuded love in every word she spoke and step she took. I can only hope that I leave an inkling of her legacy to others as she did. A wonderful woman of God. My sincere condolences to the family.
