I've known Mother Shirley King since I was a young girl. We used to visit her church Mount Zion in Eastburg, North Carolina. She was an absolute angel sent down from heaven. She will be missed. She loved for me to bring her turkey wings from Piggly Wiggly or anywhere I can find the small ones. Love you, Mother King.

There aren't any words to express my heartfelt condolences to the Kibg family..Mama King has been an inspiration to my life since my Montgomery Ward days and into ministry..I'm so blessed to have so many great and precious memories. Rest well Mama King.

I did not have the privilege of meeting Sister King personally, but have been blessed to have her son as one of the most talented percussionist in the land and above that a man of outstanding Christian Character. If a tree is known by the fruit that it bears, I can say with all candor that Sis. King has been an Oak of strength and a towering Cedar amongst Matriarchs for her family. To Chris&Jr.,my condolences goes out to you all.This takes me back to Zion Temple on highway 43,the sunshine band choir.Sister Shirley was the choir director with a stern hand.She was also caring and made sure my Mom girls had what we needed for the choir.She will be miss,but she up in heaven directing the choir.Keep her good memories before you all,and you will get through this.Praying for strength for you all.Much Love.
