Condolences to the family from the Whitfield and Bennett families. Mr. Avery will be missed by many. He was a gentleman.

Mr. Clothes Dr. will be missed. Always enjoyed seeing him and the conversations we shared. My prayers to the family for strength, comfort and peace.

Mr. Avery was a crown jewel with a heart of gold. He was a real blessing to our family and the best neighbor to Betty. He always looked out for her. On a daily basis, he helped me out by picking her up in the morning faithfully taking her home. His specialty was bringing her a cup of coffee daily after his McDonald's breakfast outing. As in our last conversation, I personally thanked him for being such a caring, loving individual. Rest well my dear friend, your forever morning has come. I thank you from the bottom of my heart and I salute you! Rest well!

My condolences to the Avery family. He was an awesome alteration man, he could fix anything that you brought him, he would say let me put on my thinking cap, " lol, and would do an amazing job. I will always treasure the latter and the great conversation that we shared. Take your rest, my friend, you will be missed.

I had breakfast with Doc for 30 years at Central Cafe, and our son Zach would run and jump in his lap and eat breakfast when he was little. Doc used to to joke that he was Zach's real daddy. He was just a great guy ,never complained and will be missed. I'm m so glad for the laughs with him.

I met the clothes doctor when a lady named Jesse (WILKINS) used to get all of her clothes altered there. We became very very good friends. I always go by to see what he has in the store and to get my clothes altered. He was very good at what he did had a very good staff to work along with him. I was sad when he said he's gonna retire because there's only one clothes, Dr my condolences goes to the family and his wife.

I met Verner many years ago and he was always the same. I enjoyed the conversations we had. I would occasionally drop in his store downtown. I pray for the family that God will be with you during your time of loss and bereavement.

PROFESSIONAL, ENERGETIC, JUST ALL ROUND EVERYTHING. THE COMMUNITY WILL MISS THE SEAM YOU PUT IN ROCKY MOUNT.

Dad words cannot express my gratitude for all the things you have done while my mother was living and 22 years after she passed you never left my side. It's true you don't have to be blood related to love someone as your own. I'm thankful I spent time with you before God call you home and got to tell you I love you. Rest well and again thank you. Our family was deeply saddened to hear of Mr. Verner's passing. For more than 15 years, he was our trusted tailor, skillfully creating and altering clothing for our family with exceptional care and attention to detail. However, he was much more than a tailor to us, he became a cherished friend and an extended member of our family.

Mr. Verner always greeted us with kindness, warmth, and a genuine interest in our lives. His craftsmanship was remarkable, but it was his character, generosity, and the relationships he built that made him truly special. We are grateful for the many years we were blessed to know him.

Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and loved ones during this difficult time. May his memory live on in the countless lives he touched and the lasting legacy of kindness he leaves behind.

I watched how you worked so hard to make a successful career in clothing which you adored, the evidence was there in My Clothes Doctor. Verner was a good person whenever I would go to get something alter he would always say you give me such a hard time. I would say please ,please ,please he would say alright it'll be ready.He will be missed.Praying for the family.
