Macon, Georgia - Graveside services for Alton L. Gurr, Sr. are 11:00 AM Tuesday, August 17, 2021 in Macon Memorial Park. Mr. Gurr was born in Macon to the parentage of Sgt. Jimmy, Sr. and Wilhelmena Gurr. He was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church and a graduate of Ballard Hudson High School and was a former employee of Armstrong World Industries and Georgia Power.
Survivors include: children, Jarquetta Tharpe, Erica Gurr, Eric Gurr and Almario Jackson; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild; three devoted nephews, Antonio Boone, Vido Anderson and Phillip Gurr; and a host of family of friends.

To the entire bereaved family of Mr. Alton Gurren, Sr.
We extend our sincerest condolences during this time of bereavement. Alton was our neighborhood Uncle who taught many boys who are now men how to throw and catch a football with authority. He enjoyed baseball as well. We will miss him but he fought a good fight and finished his race and now he is resting in peace. We will continue to keep his legacy alive and prayers bestowed upon his family.
