Macon, Georgia - Services for Theodore Daniel Smith are Friday, October 4, 2024, at 11 a.m., at the Greater Turner Tabernacle AME Church at 1104 Third Street, Macon, GA. Visitation is Thursday, October 3, 2024, from 5 p.m. to 7p.m., at Hutchings Funeral Home, 536 New Street, Macon, GA. Smith was born in Macon, GA, to the parentage of Mr. and Mrs. Eddie (Rosa) Starling Smith, Sr., on August 29, 1930. He was one of four children and his siblings were late brothers, Eddie, Jr. and Fredrick; and late sister; Dorothy Smith Douglas. He was married to renowned educator, the late Mrs. Johnnie Ola Holmes Smith, for more than 40 years, and was a life-long member of the Greater Turner Tabernacle African Methodist Episcopal Church. He also worked in education for over 50 years, primarily in the Twiggs County Public School System in various professional capacities.
Survivors include niece, Ms. Denise Douglas Hall, Macon, GA; great-nephews, Mr. Mario (Danielle) Douglas, of Houston, TX and Mr. Carl LeVictor Hall, of Lithonia, GA; great-great nephews, Mario Douglas, Jr., Josiah Douglas, Heru Douglas, Ramesu Douglas, and Amir Douglas, of Houston, TX; devoted cousin, Leroy Moorman, of McDonough, GA; godson, Mr. Reginald D. Bell, Macon, GA; and a host of other relatives and loved ones.
