John Wayne Crittenden was born on July 30, 1953, in St. Louis, Missouri, to Alberta Crittenden and Joseph Carson, who both preceded him in death. In his early years, John relocated to Arkansas, where he built a life centered on family, resilience, and lasting memories.
John was a man full of life and laughter. A true comedian at heart, he had a natural gift for humor and could light up any room he entered. His quick wit, playful spirit, and unforgettable storytelling brought joy to countless family gatherings and conversations. Being around John meant you were guaranteed a smile.
He was blessed with eight children: Jackie Ross, Juanita Scroggins, Cornelius Henderson, Cordelia Henderson-Hanks, John Jr., Prentiss Crittenden, Crystal Crittenden, and Spencer (Scotty) Crittenden. His children were an important part of his life, and his legacy continues through each of them.
John also leaves to cherish his memory his siblings: Bernard Crittenden, Adrienne Crittenden, and Bernadette Crittenden. He was preceded in death by his brother, Prentiss Edwards.
John's life was a testament to love, strength, and laughter. Though he is no longer with us physically, his humor, warmth, and presence will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
