Our Beloved Cora Horton Henry, born in North Carolina on May 27, 1934, residing in Florida, sadly, has left us too soon. She was the heart and soul of our family, our most precious gem. As our family Matriarch, a Sister, Mother, Aunt, Cousin and Life Long Friend, she leaves behind Five Generations of surviving Family Members and Friends. She was our World, our entire Constellation. She blazed a wonderful trail while leaving a lasting impression. She never met a stranger as she embraced each individual as a friend. She was a True Christian always living her life within the word of our Heavenly Father. Without a doubt, when one met Cora Horton Henry, they walked away a better, more enlightened individual. Against all odds, this country girl, as a military spouse, traveled the world with aplomb, exhibiting no fear, she resided in Asia and Europe, and was always willing to immerse herself in the cultures of foreign countries, while teaching her children tolerance and love of others, and steadfastly persevering in every environment.
She leaves to cherish her fondest memories: Brothers: Leroy Horton and Family, John Henry and Wife PJ, Their Daughters: Vanessa, Husband Al & Family, Cathy & Husband Larry, Nikki & Husband Al & Family, Sisters: Ella Horton, surviving wife of brother James, Their Sons: Clee Horton & Family , James Horton Jr & Family, Sisters Through God: Shirley Murphy, Evelyn Shank, Jesse Parks; Children: ☆Daughter Carolyn & George Wesson, Their Family: Daughter Noelle C Paley & Family, Grands & Great Grands : Matthew & Nicole Stanley & Family, Joshua & Leanah Stanley & Family, Morgan Paley; ☆Son Rosco & Sabrina Henry, Their Family: Son Christopher Henry; Great Grands: Christopher Jr., Devon, Lia, Daughter Nikki Henry & Family; Grands & Great Grands: Xavier & Family, Xandria & Family. A SERVICE OF INTEGRITY
I met Mrs. Henry while working in the Earlychildhood Department of Hillsborough County Schools. She was very caring and always had a smile on her face. We had a connection through Nikki, with the birth of her Great granddaughter , Xandria. She will always be remembered as a beautiful and loving person.
I can't believe that you're really gone ... But of course, you're too special to be forgotten by all the people that love you here on earth. I am happy that I had a chance to know you before GOD called you home. Thanks for all the special memories, kind words and special deeds that you did for me.
I will miss celebrating our shared birthday of May 27th and our love of sweets. The birthday cake this year won't taste as good without you being here to share it with me.
I hope to see you when I get to heaven; I know you are there, it's me that has to stay on the straight and narrow so that I can enter the pearly gates. Then we can celebrate all the missed birthdays together.
You left behind wonderful children, grandchildren and great grandchildren for the world to enjoy. Because of your teaching they will be able to carry on despite the tremendous grief they are experiencing now. I pray that each day gets easier for your loved ones.
Love your friend & (3# daughter, the tile that you graciously gave me & I loved you like a 2nd mother) Ann Kelly

I am so sorry to hear of Cora's passing. She was such a good loving woman. I have good fond memories of her. Her daughter Lisa and I grew up in the neighborhood. As children, we played outside a lot. Cora was always a giving, positive, and loving woman. She always opened her home up for a cup of coffee, food, and to talk. She will be missed by many. My prayers goes out to my dear friend Lisa and her whole entire family. May you all know she is with God now, and she is still with each of you watching over you.
May She Rest In Peace! With Love, Yvette Caplinger
To the family: I remember a friendly, loving, and bubbly personality of Mom Henry who will always be a part of my life and sweet memories. I know this time seem to be unbearable, heart-breaking and filled with sadness, I know this personally, but not to worry family, because God knows your pain and will comfort you all. The very last time I saw her, I saw a big beautiful smile,(her trademark), which I choose to remember from here on. Love to you guys!!! Audrey L. Henry

God placed this most extraordinary woman in my life almost 60 years ago. When my mother & I were butting heads, which was for about 55 of those, Cora was my "go to " mom. She & my mother were BFF's before that was a thing. I have a zillion great memories of her. Most of them involve food, family, faith & the general joyful bedlam that characterized her home. One of my dearest memories is standing around her table last year in a big circle, holding hands & giving thanks to God. That is how I imagine God's heavenly banquet table. My dear family, she taught us so many things the world needs to hear. May we take her message of love & acceptance wherever we go. God has blessed us abundantly. Love your sister forever, Patty
