Mr. David Lee Gay Sr.
A Celebration of Life for Mr. David Lee Gay Sr. will be held on Saturday, April 19, 2025 11:00 a.m. at Faith Temple Missionary Baptist Church, 2916 Orient Road, Tampa Rev. Dr. Joe S. Hardie, Pastor with Rev. Sam Gay, eulogist. Interment will follow at Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mr. David Lee Gay Sr. of Tampa was born August 21, 1954, in Orlando, Fl. He attended public schools in Hillsborough County. He then enlisted in the U.S. Army 1973 as a Telecommunication Tech and remained active duty until 1976 with an Honorable Discharge. David worked several jobs, but he is mostly remembered at the City of Tampa, as Supervisor of N.E.A.T (Clean City) until 2008. David's favorite pastime was fishing, watching the Dallas Cowboys and old westerns. He enjoyed listening to music, being around family and friends, telling jokes and making people laugh.
Mr. David Lee Gay Sr. was preceded in death by his parents, Johnny Gay Sr. and Bennie Hines, Brothers Edwin Gerome Gay and Jerry Gay, Sisters Virginia Brown and Gennie Farmer.
David leaves to cherish his memories: His Devoted wife, Daisy Gay, 5 sons, David Gay Jr., Marsaias Wade, Comelious Gay, Marquis Gay, Octavious Gay; 3 daughters; Venecka Wade, Davia Gay, and Sierra Gay. 25 Grandchildren and 11 Great Grandchildren, 3 brothers; Johnny (Curly) Gay, Terry Gay, Marvin Gay; 4 sisters; Vivian Thompson, Marva Gay, Teresa Ingram (Kenny), Ellen Hines and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Visitation will be held 6-8 p.m. on Friday, April 18, 2025 at Integrity Funeral Services, 3822 E. 7th Avenue, Tampa Florida.

Condolences to family, i remember when David used to call Jerome, they would talk and laugh from Sun up til Sun down and would ask me (What you cook Taaammmy) i would say you want a plate come get it then! I would say im going to get me some bluebell icecream! His favorite! Then they conversation would start again! If my husband could just hear his voice 1 more time he will be ok! Love you all!
