A Celebration of Life in Loving Memory of Mrs. Diana Vega-Merrell will be held at Integrity Funeral Services Chapel, 3822 E. 7th Avenue, Tampa, 33605 on Saturday, September 4, 2021. Visitation will begin at 2:00 p.m. with Funeral Services at 3:00 p.m. Bishop Michael W. Lewis, Sr., Founding Pastor, First Victory Cathedral, officiating. Diana Vega-Merrell was born in Los Angeles, California on May 22, 1953, to the late Manuel Elias and Grace Vega. Diana made her transition from this life on Wednesday, August 18, 2021. Diana was a member of First Victory Cathedral where she recently gave her life to Christ Sunday, August 15, 2021. She accepted Christ at a very young age. She continued to profess the goodness of Jesus to everyone she came in contact with. She loved God with all of her heart. Diana went to Jane Addams Highschool and Cosmetology school in New York until her health started to fail. Diana was known for her loving conversations, caring spirit, beauty makeovers, hugs, kisses, cooking and teaching Spanish. Family was the very soul of Diana. She loved her family and friends. Diana was preceded in death by her father: Manuel Elias, her mother: Grace Vega, father-in-law: Henry Merrill, mother-in-law: Evelyn Merrill, sisters-in-law: Doris Lawson and Sharon Holton, brother-in-law: Henry Merrell Jr., grandson: Da'shaun Merrill Diana leaves to cherish her memories: her husband of many years, Mr. Michael Merrell Sr.; her sons, Michael Merrill II, Rontavious (Shayla) Merrell, Savaris (Queionna) Merrell, John (Ashley) Morales. Sisters: Jo-Anne (James) Deleon, Priscilla Cruz, Annette (Daniel) Lopez, Sister-in-law Yolanda (Noel) Thompson, Nephew/Godson: Vernell Knight. A host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives, friends, neighbors, and her First Victory Cathedral church family.
