Addie Maebell LaGuins, age 91, of Watkinsville, GA passed February 6, 2026.
A Celebration of Life will be held, Friday, February 20, 2026, at 11:00 AM, at Walnut Grove Baptist Church, 6121 Greensboro Highway, Watkinsville, GA. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
Public Viewing will be held, Thursday, 1-6 PM, at the funeral home.
Left to cherish her memories is her only grandchild, Marlando E. LaGuins; Lithonia, Georgia; two caring and devoted sisters, Ms. Mattie Bell Pope; Athens, Georgia, and Ms. Annie “Mickey” Arnold; Mableton, Georgia; a special cousin who was more like a sister as they were raised in the same home, Ms. Charlene (Louis) Bailey; Watkinsville, Georgia.
She also leaves to cherish her memories a God‑son she raised in the home, Oscar (Terri) Brookins of Chesapeake, Virginia; her God‑grandchildren, Juandice Curtis of Atlanta, Georgia, and Oscar Jr. of Chesapeake, Virginia; and one God‑daughter, Ms. Priscilla Martin of Athens, Georgia.
She is also survived by several nieces: Ms. Peggy (Jesse) Goolsby of Athens, Georgia; Ms. Angela Davis of Mableton, Georgia; Ms. Chiffon (Raymond) Baulding of Carrollton, Georgia; and Ms. Bridgette Pope of Athens, Georgia Ms. Tina Clark of Athens, Georgia; Ms. Timesha Cox of Athens, Georgia. She loved her nephews, Mr. Ronnie LaGuins and Mr. Charles “Jerome” (Tesha) LaGuins of Washington, Georgia.
Special cousins, who were more like devoted nieces and who helped care for Maebell, include Ms. Eva (Lamar) Johnson and Ms. Brenda Robinson, both of Athens, Georgia.
She is also remembered by a host of other cousins, family members, and special friends who all went above and beyond whenever she needed anything.
