Janie Mae Woods, age 78 of Athens, GA passed August 24, 2025.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, September 2, 2025 at The chapel of Jackson-McWhorter Funeral Home.
Viewing, Monday 3-6 PM, at the funeral home.
Janie is survived by her children: her eldest son, Anthony LeRoy Pope (Bridgette Pope); her middle son, Demetrius Marcellus Woods; and her youngest son, Jermaine Woods; her grandchildren, Antonio Pope, Derrick Pope, Corrinia Pope, Jada Woods and Jordan Woods; and one great-granddaughter, Jaylani Messiah Woods; siblings, Mildred Pope, Michael Pope (Naomi Pope), Rebecca Scott (Keith Scott Sr.), Dexter Pope (Tracy Pope), Linda Evans (McArthur Evans Jr.), Eugene Pope Jr. (Debbie Pope), and Angela Pope, and her stepmother, Joe Anne Pope. She is also survived by a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.
