To the family of Ms. Mamie. My name is Angel Powell (Gresham). I loved her very much. She and my mother, Zella Golden (Gresham), were very close friends for many, many years. I'm from Omaha but have lived in Athens since 2001. Whenever I went back home, I would try to visit her and she always had a big smile, warm hug and caring words to say. She was there for our family when my mother passed, and I will cherish that forever. May God continue to comfort your family during this time, and may your thoughts forever be filled with all the fond memories you made with her.
"You can shed tears that she is gone. Or you can smile because she has lived. You can close your eyes and pray that she will come back. Or you can open your eyes and see all that she has left. Your heart can be empty because you can't see her. Or you can be full of the love that you shared"
Here's to your love, your memory and your legacy, Aunt Mamie. Thank you for all you have done and provided us over the years. You were truly a force and will be missed earthside forever.
