She will always be MY Ella. I didn't have an aunt as my mother was an only child, however,my great aunt Esther became my favorite "aunt". People often thought her stern. Mannnn...she spoiled me. 😁 She would say, "Febee Jean (lawd how she messed up my name.🤣) come on nah, you and Dale get on in this car and let's go." And me, Dale, and Spif would get on down the ride.🤣 She was usually the one calling everyone "Spif".
My Ella was funny, omg was she funny! Opinionated as all get out, head strong and courageous. She was loving and compassionate. And man could she cuss. 🤣🤣 She could definitely find the place to string together some cuss words.🤣🤣
You were an awesome aunt. I know you will be an amazing ancestor. I'll let you get all settled in over there with the other ancestors, but I'll be calling on you soon, my Ella just for a little advice every now and again. You are still, always, and forever loved.
I love you, Febee Jean

This light shines in our darkest nights on the road we must follow. Thank you for being that light. SALUTE Jelani Montsho

As a child my aunties and uncles were my world, they showed me love and kindness and always protected me. And as I grew older, becoming a young adult auntie Esther was my friend, my confidant, the sister that I didn't have and sometimes a mother that would discipline with love that was wrapped in an unfamiliar package. (smiles)! Through difficult times and celebrations, she was there for weddings, pregnancies, graduations and always Thanksgiving dinners. My family tradition that she started. She was always there for me and my family. She would call me at least once or twice a week, we would have such wonderful conversations so interesting, the laughter and the joy... that's one of the things that I miss the most. Auntie Esther lived life on her terms, and she was never afraid to face the consequences of her decisions. For me her memories will never fade. May her spirit dwell and rest with the ancestors.
Auntie Esther was a grandmother to me, I could always go to Auntie Esther to provide me with words of wisdom, for a laugh, comfort in time of need and prayer. Auntie Esther was stern, yet kind. If she ever felt she wronged anyone, she would apologize. Queen Esther started our family's Thanksgiving tradition and made each Thanksgiving memorable. I will always treasure the moments Auntie Esther and I would prepare the Thanksgiving ham, neck bones, collard greens, dressing and sweet potato pies. Queen Esther was a great cook and matriarch. Auntie Esther was my mentor, role model, inspiration, angel and my rock. Queen Esther may be gone in flesh, but is with me in spirit and can now sit on her throne.
My condolences go to my sister Wanda and her family on the loss of her dearest aunt, Esther Tate. Aunt Esther was a very beautiful person inside and out and loved to be with family and sge will be missed. Rest In Peace Aunt Esther - you will be always in our hearts ❤️✝️
