Obituary For Calvin Hammond
Calvin Hammond, 74, entered into eternal rest on Monday, May 18, 2026, in Smyrna Tn.
Left to honor his memory are his brothers, Anthony Hammond, Sr. and Gregory Hammond, Sr, as well as his cherished cousin and sister, Pamela Woods. Although he did not have children of his own, he willingly embraced a paternal role for his older brother Eddie's children – Michelle Lee, David Hammond, Tonya Hammond, and Calvin Hammond – creating lasting memories filled with love. He is also survived by his uncle, James (Bernadine) Hammond of Chicago, IL; numerous great-nieces and great-nephews; cousins; and a close-knit circle of friends and loved ones who will cherish his memory.
A Public Viewing will be held on Saturday, May 30, 2026 from 2pm-4pm at J C Hellum Funeral Chapel, 107 Stokes St, Lebanon, TN 37087.
Viewing and Family Visitation will be held on Sunday, May 31 from 2:30-3pm at West Bemis Baptist Church, 95 Butler St, Bemis, TN 38301, with Funeral Service to follow at 3pm.
Interment will be on Monday, June 1, 2026 at 2pm, at Middle Tennessee Veterans Cemetery, 7931 McCrory Ln, Nashville, TN 37221.

God called home a true angel, welcoming Calvin to his heavenly home. For 74 blessed years, God loaned Calvin to this earth, and all of us were fortunate to know and love him.
Calvin was a wonderful friend, father, mentor, brother, uncle, and colleague. He brought joy with him everywhere he went and touched the lives of so many with his warm smile, optimism, kindness, and generous spirit. Truly, he was a blessing to everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.
