Mrs. Coralenne Tibbs, 77 entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, April 22, 2026, in Murfreesboro, TN.
Coralenne Maria “Cora” Tibbs was a woman of quiet strength, grace, and unwavering love. She departed this life peacefully on April 22, 2026, leaving behind a legacy rooted in faith, resilience, and deep devotion to her family.
Born on August 7, 1948, in Indianapolis, Indiana, Cora was the beloved daughter of Hannah J. Tibbs and Jessie L. Tibbs, who preceded her in death. She overcame a challenging childhood with courage and determination, carrying herself through every season of life with dignity, compassion, and a gentle spirit that touched all who knew her. She graduated from George Washington High School in 1976.
Cora was a devoted mother who worked tirelessly to provide, nurture, and uplift her children. As a single mother, she poured love, guidance, and strength into raising her family, ensuring they always felt supported and cared for. She dedicated her career to serving others—working 21 years at Indiana University Hospital and 17 years at BrightPoint Micro-Ingram, where she retired in September 2014 and was dearly loved by her coworkers.
A woman of faith who loved the Lord deeply, she gave her life to Christ at the age of 12 at 25th Street Baptist Church. In Indianapolis, she was a faithful
member of Nu Corinthian Baptist Church and served as President of the Nursing Board. After retirement, she lived in Dallas, Texas, before ultimately settling in Nashville, Tennessee.
Known for her soft-spoken voice and kind heart, Cora carried a quiet elegance—full of life, yet always respectful. She enjoyed camping, cooking, reading,
and traveling. Her legacy will live on through the love she gave and the strength she demonstrated. She was 77 years, 8 months, and 15 days old and was surrounded by her children at the time of her passing.
She leaves to cherish her memory her daughter, Heather; sons, Bryant and Jerry; daughters-in-law, Mary and Season; grandchildren, Ashton, Michaella,
Brittany (Carlos), Anna (Jermal), Jordan, Jael’n (fiancée Ayanna), Caleb, Ty’ler, Eric, Edris, Jalen, James, Jada, and Jamera; 11 great-grandchildren; two brothers; ten
