Mrs. Dorothy Malone age 75 entered into eternal rest on Saturday September 6, 2025 in Murfreesboro Tn.
Dorothy Hicks Malone was born on September 18, 1949, to the late Zack T. and Minnie Hicks. She peacefully transitioned into eternal rest to be with the Lord on September 6, 2025.
Dorothy received her public education in the Rutherford County School System and later worked at Samsonite, where she was a dedicated employee for 24 years. From an early age, Dorothy professed her faith in God and lived by it every day. She was a devoted member of Lillard Chapel United Methodist Church, where she served faithfully on the usher board. Known for her warm hugs and radiant smile, she was a beloved presence who brought comfort and joy to her church family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James I. Malone Jr.; daughter, Susanna Malone; and siblings John W. Hicks, William Woods, Emma Belle Lyons, Joe T. Hicks, and Bobby Hicks.
She leaves to cherish her memory: daughters Sylvia and Melissa Malone; granddaughter, Andrea Perkins; great-granddaughters, Rhayne and Serenity Perkins; sisters, Jessie M. Lyons and Clara (Henry) Johnson Sr.; devoted great-nephew, Marcus Johnson; sister-in-law, Judy Hicks; best friend, Callie Smith; and a host of loving nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Public Viewing: Saturday, September 13, 2025, from 12 noon to 5PM at Hellum Funeral Chapel in Murfreesboro.
Family Visitation: Sunday, September 14, 2025, from 1PM to 2PM with funeral services to follow at Lillard Chapel UMC 5406 Little Hope Road, Murfreesboro, TN 37129
