I have many wonderful memories of socializing with Fred and my dear friend Marian who introduced me to him. Fred was so very intelligent, thoughtful, entertaining, caring and insightful. He was the very definition of the word "authentic." Fred had no problem with speaking his mind and expressing his opinions. I am reminded of Fred everyday when I look at a beautiful piece of furniture in my dining room that he came to me and insisted that I purchase. He was not taking no for an answer. I paid $25 for a piece of furniture that is worth several thousands of dollars today! That piece is a permanent reminder to me of Fred and it always, to this very day, makes me smile. Fred always looked out for me and helped whenever he could with handyman projects. He took great pride in a job well done. He and Marian would visit me or I would visit them all the time! Before cellphones our conversations were always conducted by landline. I'd call to talk to Marian and Fred would answer the phone and carry on the most nonsensical conversations before finally handing the phone to Marian. He would have me in stitches! As life goes, things change, friendships change, we traveled different paths. Although we were no longer around each other socially as "The 3 Musketeers", Fred has always held a very special place in my heart! I know he suffered greatly during his latter years. Our last conversation was about 6 years ago when he contacted me out of concern about a family member of mine. He shared his worsening medical condition while exalting his deep Christian faith and belief in a healing. Fred is no longer suffering and I know the angels have welcomed him with open arms! Fred's contagious personality, smile and laughter are unforgettable. I know he's having the most peaceful time. May he rest in peace. My condolences to the Robertson family, extended family, loved ones and friends and associates.
