Obituary For Patsy A. Hurd

Mrs. Hurd age 80 passed away on Wednesday Sept. 8, 2021 at AHC in Mt. Juliet, Tn.

Preceded in death by Doyle and Maude Davis. She was also preceded in death by her beloved brothers and sisters: Johnny, Earlie (Clennon), Daniel, Henry, Marian, Rachel (Cathy), and Benjamin, and her son, Timothy Doyle.

Patsy was married to Samuel Jasper for many years, and leaves four children grieving her loss including Warren Jasper (Pamela), Claire Jasper-Crafter (Larry, deceased), Leslie Brickner (Edward),LaShawn Jasper, and her devoted niece whom she loved as a daughter, Edith Tuck. Patsy also leaves her stepchildren Kim (Michael) Gaines, Wanda (Gerald) Jackson, Charlotte Hurd, Jacquese(Cameron) Scott, and Toby Hurd and their children to mourn her passing.

Mrs. Hurd was adored by her beloved grandchildren Michael (Allison), Christian, Rowan, Cameron, Jordan and Olivia, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, step-children, step-grandchildren and friends. Her great granddaughter, Davis Reid will grow up knowing about the amazing love of the woman whose name she bears. Patsy was known for her infectious laugh, her legendary southern cooking skills, and her voice of an angel, that she used to praise the Lord along with her sisters, Marian and Cathy, as the Davis Sisters. Her signature song “Order my Steps” touched many hearts.

As a lifelong member of Williamson Chapel CME Church, she was a member of the choir, served as President of the Missionary Society for many years, and at one time, was Superintendent of Sunday School. Mrs. Hurd loved her church and her family, which extended far beyond blood relatives. When not caring for her patients as a home health care attendant, prior to retirement, she could be found serving others through her church activities or spending time with her children and grandchildren. Public Viewing, Monday, September 13, 2021 from 4-6:00pm at JC Hellum Funeral Chapel.

Family Visitation, Tuesday 11-12 Noon with funeral to follow at the above named chapel.

EVERYONE IS REQUIRED TO WEAR MASKS TO ENTER THE BUILDING. SOCIAL DISTANCING WILL BE ENFORCED.
