Affectionately known as Mother Rose, she was the eldest Mother at LaGuardo Missionary Baptist Church, faithfully serving under the leadership of Elder James R. Brooks and Pastor and Evangelist Cliffordene Brooks. A woman of deep spiritual devotion, Mother Rose found joy in singing and reading her Bible daily. Her life was a testament to her favorite saying: “I trust no man but God!”

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, George Britton; her parents, Earl and Addie Lee Seay; sisters, Fannie Mae Gilliam and Earline Draper; daughter, Diane B. Smith; son, Jimmy Britton; grandsons, Lamont Britton, Joshua Britton, and Latone Britton; and granddaughter, Jessica Neuble.
Mother Rose leaves to cherish her memory her devoted children: Carolyn (Kenneth) Mitchell, Rose Odom, Ronnie Britton, John P. Britton, and Pamela Burns; grandchildren: Torrie Odom, Latisha High, Allen Britton, Shatica (Eric) Witt, Catherine Odom, Chris Britton, John Odom, and Meshaun Neuble; 15 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren; and her dearest and closest friend, Mrs. Queenie Steverson.
