Cassandra Lynn Bolton Cunningham "CANDY" 57 of Mt. Pleasant, TX formerly of Gilmer, TX died Thursday July 6, 2017 at 5:58 a.m. in Tyler, TX. Services will held Tuesday July 11, 2017 at 11 a.m. at First Assembly Of God 1919 Wood St. Gilmer, TX 75644; with Min. Lakeda Monroe officiating and Pastor Thaderus Monroe eulogist. Interment will follow at Cross Roads Cemetery in Gilmer, TX . Services are under the direction of J.C. White Funeral & Cremation Services of Mt. Pleasant, TX. Viewing will be held Monday July 10, 2017 from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the funeral home. Online condolences may be left at www.jcwhitefd.com.

Cassandra Bolton Cunningham was born in Gilmer, Texas on December 18, 1959 to Velma Jean Bolton and Shirley Brinkley whom both preceded her in death; along with her brothers, Russell Eugene Bolton and Don Juan Bolton. Growing up, Candy joined church at an early age.

Cassandra attended Union Hill Schools then went on to attend Kilgore College. After working at Union Hill Elementary School for several years, she went on to further her education at Northeast Texas Community College where she received her degree in Education. She recently re-enrolled at NTCC to pursue a second degree in Criminal Justice. She was married to Anthony Cunningham and to this union one son, Russell Cunningham was born. Later on in life she met a special friend, Dannie Taylor.

She leaves to cherish her memory her son Russell (Jasmine) Cunningham and her daughter Kaitlyn Bolton. Cassandra also leaves her two precious grandchildren, Aiden and Ayla Cunningham to cherish her memory. Cassandra will be dearly missed by her sisters, Demetria Smith of Mt. Pleasant, Texas and Jacqueline Shepherd (her late husband Louis) of Gilmer, Texas. Candy has four brothers, Barry Bolton (Joyce) of Fort Worth, Texas; Stephan Bolton, Kirk Bolton of Gilmer, Texas, and Bruce Bolton of Mt. Pleasant, Texas; aunts, Dolly Marie Johnson of Longview, Texas, Wanda Johnson of Gilmer, Texas; extended family, Danny Taylor, Farrah Morgan, and MaKetha Taylor; special friends at the Dialysis Center in Mt. Pleasant, Texas; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.

Candy was my classmate at Union Hill, she was always the life of whatever was going on at the time. She was a cheerleader and loved doing that and supporting our football team. She was always involved in and very good at all sports. She enjoyed life and lived it to it's fullest. She was my friend and she will be missed by many! I Met Candy at Karen Moore beauty shop and I also run into her at Walmart some time. . She was such a nice lady and I will miss seeing her at the shop.Praying for her family and may God comfort them

Our meeting place was Super One in Mt. Pleasant. The last time I saw her there, she made me buy that expensive butter. We laughed and talked. I will miss Candy. May God comfort the family during this time.
